Abstract/Summary:
A new experimental study has been carried out to investigate the influence of convective flow in the melt on the dendritic growth of ultra high purity succinonitrile. Well defined uniform flows with low Reynolds number (0.005 ;Our experimental data for growth velocity in cm/sec and tip radius in cm can be correlated by V = 4.47 ;Forced convection increases the temporal frequency of sidebranch generation.
