The surface valence electronic structure of clean Ta(110), H/Ta(110), and alkalis/Ta(110) is characterized using the technique Angle-Resolved Photoemission. The momentum and energy resolution offered by this technique are essential to measure surface electronic structure, which determines chemical and dynamical properties of the surface. Principally two surface features are observed on clean Ta(110). A d-derived surface state with a binding energy of 0.46 eV is located within a projected bulk band gap at k... |
