| Field experiments were conducted from 1986 to 1988 on comparative growth of red rice (Oryza sativa L.) (strawhull biotype) and rice (O. sativa) cultivars, effects of red rice interference durations, densities, and distances on rice cultivars, and control and suppression of red rice in rice. Semidwarf and conventional cultivars were compared. Red rice plants were taller than cultivars throughout the growing season. It produced greater straw dry weight, crop growth rate, culm number, and leaf area index than cultivars during early season, but these parameters were less for red rice than for cultivars during late season. Interference durations of red rice at 20 plants/m... |
