The construction of a self-administered, cross-cultural training program, called the Chinese Intercultural Sensitizer, is here described. This program is designed to provide a method for assisting Americans to interact with Chinese and adjust successfully to the Chinese culture. Based upon a review of the literature, intercultural sensitizers have been developed for various cultures. This dissertation reviews studies validating various intercultural sensitizers under laboratory and field conditions, the method used to develop the Chinese Intercultural Sensitizer, including the step during which a panel with extensive Chinese culture knowledge validates the program. |
