The purpose of the study was to analyze David Jeremiah's preaching to discover the extent to which it reflects the elements of Haddon Robinson's theory of preaching. Results from a 2009 LifeWay Research telephone survey named David Jeremiah as one of ten prominent influential preachers. The research question was "To what extent does the preaching of David Jeremiah reflect the elements of Haddon Robinson's theory of biblical preaching?".;The dissertation considered three hypotheses. First, each of Jeremiah's sermons will consistently contain a single homiletical idea which surfaced from a text or texts of Scripture. Second, Jeremiah's sermons will consistently contain application which answers the questions, "So what? What difference does it make?" Third, Jeremiah's sermons will reflect other elements of Robinson's theory of biblical preaching such as sermon shape and style.;The use of the sermon analytical guide enabled identification of elements as they occurred. Data collection methods included analyzing fifty of Jeremiah's sermons delivered between January 2009 and January 2011. An examination of Jeremiah's preaching through the analytical lens of Robinson's theory of preaching revealed significant facts. The research results indicated implications for contemporary homiletics. Further research is recommended to analyze Jeremiah's preaching style, itinerant preaching, and use of the invitation.
