Abstract/Summary:
This case study examined the leadership styles and overall financial health of the three South Carolina Baptist Convention universities. Each university share a similar story of financial exigency prior to the current president's arrival. Each institution has increased enrollment, endowment, and facilities over the last decade. This case study used a qualitative research approach, involving personal interviews with each president and selected vice presidents, direct observation during site-visits, and a review of institutional documents. The Composite Financial Index determined the basis for institutional financial health. Personal interviews identified financial management practices and leadership behaviors of the presidents.;Keywords: financial health, CFI, ratio analysis, higher education, leadership, South Carolina, South Carolina Baptist Convention, university.
