It is one of the keys to prevent availably gas dynamic disasters in coal mines that the deformation-percolation characteristics and mechanism of coal containing gas is studied under loading. A series of methods and theories are applied on the research, such as laboratory tests, physical simulation, coal petrology, rock mass mechanics, statistical thermodynamics, mechanics of elasticity and surface physical chemistry, and so on. Base on the above theories and methods, the synergy relationships between permeability and coal deformation, adsorption deformation, and mechanical deformation have been established, and their changes with time and space have been analyzed. Those includes the study to absorption deformation and its formation mechanism, and the deformation and failure characteristics of coal containing gas under different mechanics conditions and its formation mechanism. After comprehension of above achievements, the calculation formula is deduced which is used to describe the relationship between the thermodynamic parameters and adsorption deformation under ideal conditions. Based on the heterogeneity of coal, the mechanical model of Fractal stress-strain-permeability under high temperature and high pressure conditions is established. The essence affecting the absorbability of coal containing gas, the deformation characteristics, and the changes of permeability has been revealed. Those provide theoretical basis for further research of dynamic disaster mechanism in deep coal seam, and important guides for gas outburst prevention and control, and coal-bed methane development.
