Background:According to statistics, more than 2 million stroke occur every year in China, and its disability rate is as high as 75%.Stroke has become the leading cause of death in China.Because of its high morbidity, mortality and disability rate, stroke has become an important problem that seriously endangers the life and health of middle-aged and elderly people in our country.About three quarters of the surviving patients have different degrees of physical disability leading to the loss of labor and their lives need to be cared for, which brings heavy burden to patients, families and society.Especially the upper limb movement disorder will affect patients in clothing, brushing teeth, eating and other fine activities, which has a great impact on patients’daily life. With the increase of the number of stroke patients, the current lack of medical personnel is difficult to meet the rehabilitation training needs of patients.Current studies have shown that the development and clinical application of rehabilitation robots can assist patients in rehabilitation training to a certain extent and promote the recovery of upper limb motor function. Objective:To observe the effect of upper limb rehabilitation robot on upper limb motor function recovery of hemiplegic patients in stroke sequelae.Method:Twenty-eight patients with hemiplegia during the sequelae of stroke were divided into two groups according to the random number table method, including experimental group(14 cases)and control group(14 cases). Both groups were given routine drug treatment and rehabilitation treatment. In addition, patients in the experimental group will receive a total of 3 courses of upper limb rehabilitation robot treatment,30 minutes/time,once a day,5 days/course of treatment. Before and after three-courses treatment, the upper limb and hand functions and activities of daily living would be assessed by Fugl-Meyer Assessment,Brunnstrom grading and modified Barthel index. The results of assessment before and after treatment will be compared and analyzed.Result:In terms of Fugl-Meyer Scale for upper limb, after three courses of treatment, the control group’s score increased from(45.57± 11.271)to(45.64±11.284),and the experimental group’s increased from(42.64±8.670)to(43.43±8.777).There was a significant improvement in upper limb motor function in experimental group before and after treatment(P<0.05)while none in another. There was a significant difference in the improvement degree between them(P<0.05).In terms of the Brunnstrom motor recovery stage, before the intervention,in the control group, the number of upper limb score from grade I to VI is 0,3,5,4,2,0 respectively and hand’s is 3,3,2,3,2,1 respectively. In the experimental group, that is 0,5,6,3,0,0 and 0,6,6,2,0,0 respectively. After three courses of treatment,in the control group, the number of upper limb score from grade I to VI is 0,3,5,4,2,0 respectively and which about hand is 3,3,2,3,2,1 respectively. In the experimental group, that is 0,3,6,5,0,0 and 0,6,6,2,0,0 respectively. After three courses of treatment, there was a significant improvement in Brunnstrom classification of upper limbs in experimental group before and after treatment(P<0.05)but none in another(P>0.05).There was a significant difference in the improvement degree between them(P<0.05).In terms of the modified Barthel index, the control group’s score increased from 51.79±22.067)to(52.14±21.458),and the experimental group’s increased from(41.07±22.117)to(44.29±22.943).There was a significant improvement in ADL in the experimental group before and after treatment(P<0.05)while none in another. There was a significant difference in ADL between them(P<0.05).Conclusions:In the study, there were significant differences between the experimental group and control group in the upper limb partial score of the Fugl-Meyer assessment,Brunnstrom grade and modified Barthel index after three courses of treatment. Therefore,we could prove that upper limb rehabilitation robot is effective in improving upper limb motor function and activities of daily living in patients with stroke sequelae.
