This paper takes the Chinese plant vocabulary which in pre-Qin period as the research object,including the grass vocabulary,wood vocabulary,and vegetable vocabulary,etc.It belongs to the study of specific semantic category,which mainly on the meaning,generation attribute,application,diachronic evolution,evolutionary motivations and mechanisms of the Chinese vocabulary of the pre-Qin period.First of all,with the lexical meaning as the basic unit,a total of 720 Chinese plant vocabulary in pre-Qin period were collected and compiled.According to the semantic features of the 720 vocabulary,it is divided into four categories: grass vocabulary,wood vocabulary,grass vocabulary and vegetable vocabulary,and then with the sub-level division,the synchronic static description of three aspects which were the semantics,generation and use of the pre-Qin vocabulary are put forward.In the lexical semantic analysis,this paper comprehensively uses the "term attribute analysis table" and "the statistical table refers to vocabulary ",and strives to present the lexical meaning differences in each semantic category more comprehensively and meticulously.Secondly,on the basis of the synchronic description of the vocabulary system,the diachronic evolution of the Chinese vocabulary of the pre-Qin period is sketched from a diachronic perspective,and the reasons for the evolution are discussed.At the same time,it comprehensively describes the extension of Chinese vocabulary meanings in pre-Qin,analyzes the extension categories of lexical meanings of Chinese pre-Qin vocabulary and the extension path of lexical meanings,and increases or decreases the meanings of the syllabary,the semantic category of the old and new meanings,and the scope of the meaning of the words.This paper analyzes the results of the meanings of Chinese vocabulary of pre-Qin,and summarizes the extension features and extension rules of the lexical meanings of Chinese plants in the pre-Qin period.Finally,on the basis of the description and analysis of the prehistoric plant vocabulary,and from the cognitive perspective of metaphor and metonymy,the mechanism and motivation of the evolution of Chinese vocabulary meanings in the pre-Qin period are discussed.Plant vocabulary is the basic vocabulary of Chinese,which is closely related to the Chinese system and social political culture.This paper takes the principle of maximizing the vocabulary of Chinese plants in the pre-Qin as the description principle.In the analysis of quantity,the author studies the literature and searches for the first-hand information.It is necessary to check the dictionaries,the book,and the second-hand statistics to ensure the accuracy of the possession and presentation of data.In the qualitative analysis,mainly based on the modern linguistic theory,and combined with the linguistic facts of the preQin,from the perspective of synchronicity,diachronic,description,interpretation,internal language and external factors,the semantic characteristics and development laws of Chinese vocabulary in the pre-Qin period have been explored.On the basis of meticulous and accurate presentation of the Chinese plant vocabulary in pre-Qin and its evolution,the regular content of evolution in lexical meaning of Chinese pre-Qin vocabulary are summarized.
