During the Tang and Song Dynasties,the cultivation techniques of garden plants were more mature and the plant species were more abundant.The literati in the Tang and Song Dynasties showed a keen interest in the cultivation and appreciation of garden plants,and their unique aesthetic experience of garden plants is richly expressed in poetry.Both the image expression of Tang and Song poetry and the construction of artistic conception have an internal connection with the aesthetics of garden plants that is worthy of attention.This thesis makes a multi-angle observation and analysis of the aesthetic connotation of the garden plants in Tang and Song poems.The main body of the thesis is divided into upper and lower editions.The first part mainly examines the writing characteristics of garden plants by several representative poets such as Wang Wei,Du Fu,Bai Juyi,Li Deyu,Su Shi,Chao Buzhi,Yang Wanli and so on in the Tang and Song Dynasties.Wang Wei and Du Fu's garden plant writing has very different artistic characteristics.Wang Wei's Wangchuan Poems on Other Businesses tend to eliminate the intervention of artificial factors in a realm of no one and no self,showing the natural authenticity of garden plants;Du Fu's garden poems describe the configuration,planting and pruning of garden plants in a large amount.The activity focuses on the dislocation of subjective sentiments and objective reality,and usually presents a landscape that is not harmonious.——The two are almost at the opposite ends of the "things-me mingling" and "things-me confrontation".Bai Juyi's way of contemplating garden plants is like the combination of Wang Wei and Du Fu,which is between the fusion of the thing and the self and the confrontation between the thing and the self.In the long-term practice of garden-building and garden residence,Bai Juyi has a profound understanding of the significance of plant materials in various aspects of garden aesthetics,and he has given unprecedented comprehensive and in-depth performance in his poems.The individual aesthetic style,as well as the image of garden plants such as "window bamboo" with very personal touch,and show the domesticated and absorbing aesthetic spatial pattern of the garden.As far as the writing of garden plants is concerned,Bai Juyi is a "integrator" who connects the past and the next and covers the depth and breadth.In Li Deyu's Pingquan Mountain Poem,it is worth paying attention to the two images of garden plants—flowers and trees as hermit symbols and strange flowers and trees as museums and collection objects.The wild and interesting spaces in the later gardens imitating the mountains and forests and the relatively secular and private spaces for playing can be found in a clearer judgment in Li Deyu's chanting of Pingquan's vegetation.The aesthetics of garden plants in Su Shi's poems has strong human cultural characteristics.Flowers and trees are often placed in historical texts or paintings in associations and moral comparisons for aesthetics,highlighting the virtues and beauty of garden plants,and clearly put forward the idea of “planting wood is planting virtue".He relatively ignored the writing of the natural state of flowers and trees and its coordination with other landscape elements,showing a different aesthetic focus from Bai Juyi's writing of garden plants.Chao Buzhi is the most representative pivot figure who gathers poems,paintings,and gardens.He is in the transitional stage from the literati garden to the painter garden.The zoning spatial layout and planting methods of the garden plants in the Donggao Guilai Garden show a more legal and mature landscape configuration of garden plants.The cultural meaning contained in the plant images of his Donggao poems and the history in related allusions.The scene also reflects the growing trend of literatiization and literaryization of gardens in Song Dynasty.Yang Wanli's writing of garden plants not only has strong personal characteristics,but also represents the typical state of Song people's view of things.His meticulous capture of the characteristics of garden plants,environmental factors and other characteristics,as well as the close connection with daily life,are typical manifestations of the intellectualized,interesting and aesthetic view of plants by the Song people.It is interlinked with Song Dynasty's botanical records and paintings of botanical themes.The second part is an aesthetic analysis of the image of typical garden plants in Tang and Song poems.The thesis selected two typical garden plant images in Tang and Song poems and paintings,"window bamboo" and "flowers and trees outside the wall",combined with pictures and painting literature,to explore their aesthetic meaning.The image of window bamboo is the most typical of Bai Juyi's appreciation of the bamboo outside the window.Bai Juyi made an extremely important development in the artistic expression of this garden plant image.There is a connection between artistic thinking between the concept of “picture-like” and the form of expression of “windowless window” in painting.The flowers and trees that go out of the wall have rich artistic connotations in the poetry of the Tang and Song Dynasties.The images of "flowers on the wall" and "red apricots out of the wall" also form specific cultural associations.This image has "mutually subtle" factors in the bright and plain colors,the horizontal and vertical contrast of the lines,and the half hidden and half exposed state.It contains rich painting interest,and it is related to the broken branches of flowers and ancient cliffs trees.There are similar principles in the painting of the subject.In general,many literati in the Tang and Song Dynasties were able to consciously use flowers and trees in conjunction with other gardens to construct gardens in gardening activities.The introduction of new garden plants and the formation of new ornamental fashions,the increasingly refined viewing and identification of flower and tree varieties,the improvement and innovation of flower varieties,and the planting of garden plants in thematic divisions,etc.,are the important manifestation of the development of plant aesthetics in Tang and Song gardens,especially the literati gardens in Tang and Song Dynasties.Tang and Song poets' chants of garden plants have complicated historical associations,spiritual projections,and colorful artistic expressions,which greatly deepen the aesthetic connotation of garden plants and form a rich connection with the aesthetics of painting.The rich aesthetic connotations of garden plants in Tang and Song poems deserve great attention.
