War passes through human nature, giving human nature the momentum of consumption, and the common ethical demands of human beings are manifested by extreme living conditions. At the same time, the living individual has no choice but to limit the chaotic environment, but also unwilling to sink,so he has to struggle to resist the crisis. The revelation of this subtle life experience is a secret means of telling the fable of human existence as a whole. The unique meaning of different ethical demands in war brings people a unique academic horizon. The reason for choosing this period—the end of the 20 th century,is because the scholar Zhang Guangmang points out that the three times of transformations of literature :the late 1970 s and early 1980 s,the late 1990 s and the early 1990 s,and the late 1990 s and the early 21 st century. So the period of 1978-2000 just cover these three periods of literary transformation.Meanwhile,The change of historical and cultural context in these three periods also profoundly affects the production, communication acceptance and narrative ethics of war novels. At the same time,it is almost absent in the concern of the investigation about narrative ethics in war novels in the view of integrated perspective.Meanwhile, what should be paid attention to is Analyzing how war novels present different ethical characteristics from the perspective of narrative ethics,in order to explore the deep factors of human nature, culture and literature, but the related research has been neglected to a considerable extent. On the basis of this research, the dissertation tries to break the obstacle between rhetoric ethics and narrative content ethics.Based on the different ethical themes embodied in the narrative form and content of war novels, this paper focus on the features of rhetoric and content behind different ethical features. In order to combine narrative content ethics and rhetoric ethics, such paper tries to research in the perspective of integration and interactive study of the merits of the Eastern and Western literary theories, such as rhetoric,ethics,Marxist-Leninist philosophy, feminist theory, etc.,to find out the difficulties in the debate of narrative ethics from the perspective of modernity, and to carry out a multidimensional academic view of the body ethics, exemplary ethics and revolutionary ethics in war novels,in combination with the concrete literary discourse expression. And then this dissertation try to put forward the possibility of writing Chinese experience from the contemporary perspective. The dissertation is divided into seven chapters. In the exordium part,it do the job on objects of study :war,war-novel,narrative ethics, bring forward the problems to be solved. It elaborate the framework, method, and basis of theory, set forth the value end innovation on academy of the whole dissertation. The second chapter defines the conceptual boundary of war novels and narrative ethics. The ‘War Novel 'means the subject is about war, which includes not only the works of writing the war ontology, but also the attention to the literary discourse of people's living conditions in the war, because war is a multi-dimensional process. It includes not only military violence in history, but also individual circumstances in war.In the context of narrative ‘ethical turn '.narrative ethics as a method of criticism is increasingly emerged as an important critical discourse.Western narrative ethics criticism focuses on the detailed analysis of text form ethics, while Chinese narrative ethics criticism pays more attention to the ethical implications of text narration. The third chapter organized three types of war novels in the late 20 th century, based on the writer's attitude towards the mainstream view of history and war.Narrative ethics has an important relationship with the status of the author's subject. Therefore,it is necessary to understand the author's creative concept, which deeply affects the interpretation and judgment of the same narrative ethics theme in different types of texts.According to the difference between the war novels of the late 20 th century and the historical view and the view of war of ‘the 17 years',it is divided into following narrative policies:continuous writing with repair, rewriting with deconstructing intention, reconstructing writing with introspection. The fourth chapter expounds the misery narrative of the physical ethics of the war novels in the late 20 th century presents the peculiarity from‘shield' to ‘residence '.Although the war novels written by ‘continuous writing with repair 'has continued the‘the 17 years' of physical politicized writing, with the expansion of ‘the people's scope, but there is still a tendency to ‘sacrifice for sublime reason'.The misery narrative of‘rewriting with deconstructing intention 'express the ‘rhetoric of desire '.Which means the creative group begin to think about the ‘residence' of the physical. At the same time, with the return of existentialism and ‘traditional embodiment theory',‘reconstructing writing with introspection' reflect such heavy connotation of rational nationalism. The fifth chapter points out that there is a tendency of reshaping the exemplary ethics which is a unity of ‘hero' and ‘anti-hero ',by analyzing the heroic narrative of exemplary ethic. The‘continuous writing with repair 'presents the feature of disenchantment with the ‘the 17 years' hero. The model of ‘rewriting with deconstructing intention 'presents a heroic image characterized by ‘suffering' and ‘resistance 'with the temperament of ‘tragedy' of ‘Bacchus'.The mode of‘reconstructing writing with introspection' represents the unity of ‘hero' and ‘anti-hero ',which is possess the authenticity of the world, expressing respect for the beauty of life, acclaim he freedom to pursue the experience of happiness. The sixth chapter explores the historical narrative of revolutionary ethics in the war novels of the late 20 th century, which shows perceptual liberation of revolutionary resources. The writing of ‘continuous writing with repair 'adds the content of profound consideration on the Chinese nationalistic. The writing of ‘rewriting with deconstructing intention ' presents a different ‘sense of reality'.The mode of‘reconstructing writing with introspection' supply the democratic content in the intellectual perspective. The seventh chapter mainly summarizes the significance and limitation of narrative ethic as a method. It shows the feature of ‘heterogeneous mixing 'by means of misery narrative of the physical ethics, heroic narrative of exemplary ethic ? and historical narrative of revolutionary ethics in the war novels of the late 20 th century.Meanwhile, the three type of writing create a unique Chinese experience. However, there are still some shortcomings such as lacks of realistic ethical reference, too much emphasis on individual existence and neglect of tension between individual and society, and separation of rhetoric and ethics.Certainly as a measure of criticism of literature the deficiency is inevitably, but it will be surmount with our endeavor.
