Since the 18 th National Congress of the Communist Party of China(CPC),the central collective leadership of the CPC with President Xi Jinping as the core has stood at the strategic height of the training and development of qualified successors for the party and the country,focused on the growth and progress of young people,actively explored in theory,innovated in the practice of governing the country,and proposed a set of youth education ideological system with complete system structure,clear logic level and rich content.In the new era,the socialist theory with Chinese characteristics reaches an unprecedented height and depth.Xi Jinping’s youth education theory,which has become an important content of ideological and political education in the new era,has crucial theoretical research significance and practical guidance value in the current era.Taking Xi Jinping’s youth education thought as the research object,this paper deeply analyzes the origin,inheritance and the internal logic of Xi Jinping’s youth education thought in the new era as well as its significance and role in the current ideological and political education in colleges and universities.Youth is the future of the motherland and the hope of the nation.President Xi Jinping’s important discourse on youth education is influenced by the Marxist concept of youth.It is not only the inheritance and development of important discourses on youth education by many leaders such as Mao Zedong,Deng Xiaoping,Jiang Zemin,and Hu Jintao,but also an important discourse with distinctive characteristic that combines with the experience of Xi Jinping and integrates unique insights into youth education.Having become an important part of Xi Jinping’s governance of the country in the new era,this discourse points out the direction for the ideological and political work of colleges and universities in the new era.This study focuses on President Xi Jinping’s important discourse on youth education,and
