According to successive forest resource inventories,the area of bamboo forests in China has gradually increased over a period of 40 years.Moso bamboo forests are an important part of China’s forest resources and forest landscape,and more than 72%of China’s bamboo forests are moso bamboo forests.Current researchers have studied the dynamic changes of this unique landscape of moso bamboo forest less,and lack of research on the comparison of the influencing factors and dynamic change process of moso bamboo forest landscape in long time series and large scale.The study of current moso bamboo landscape patterns can provide insight into the dynamic change process of moso bamboo forests.The study of moso bamboo landscape pattern is the basic way to reveal the relationship between the structure and function of moso bamboo landscape and to portray the dynamics of moso bamboo landscape.Meanwhile,the study of the spatial pattern and dynamic changes of moso bamboo landscape can provide powerful guidance for the protection of ecological resources and ecological environment and the rational use of forest resources.In this study,the dynamics and drivers of the moso bamboo landscape in China were selected as the research theme,and the characteristics of the dynamic changes of the moso bamboo forest landscape for multiple years in 2010,2015,and 2020 were analyzed according to the time series,and the evolution of the moso bamboo forest landscape was dynamically simulated based on the Markov model of the machine learning method to explore the change patterns of its landscape pattern,while the PLUS model was used to clarify at the same time,the PLUS model was used to clarify the natural trends and anthropogenic disturbances in the development of moso bamboo forests in China,and to predict the dynamic change trends of the landscape pattern of moso bamboo forests in China in the next decade.This study can reflect the dynamic changes of China’s moso bamboo over the years and the intrinsic mechanisms involved relatively accurately and completely,and can also provide corresponding theoretical support and decision-making suggestions for safeguarding forest management,ecological security,and promoting the construction of ecological civilization.The main conclusions of this study are as follows:(1)China’s moso bamboo forest landscape has a clear tendency to expand northsouth.2010-2015 China’s moso bamboo forests are distributed in 18 provinces,reaching 19 provinces in 2020.2010-2015 area increased by 4.50%and 2015-2020 area increased by 9.29%.High and very high-density areas are mainly found in Hunan,Zhejiang,Fujian and Jiangxi provinces,as well as in Anhui and southern Jiangsu.The expansion of moso bamboo forests is characterized by different time periods.2010-2015 saw a significant spatial increase in low and very low-density areas,with the distribution of moso bamboo forests continuously expanding to provinces in the southwest.2015-2020 saw an increase in low and very low-density areas mainly in Shandong and Guangdong provinces,indicating that the distribution of moso bamboo forests is expanding in both north and south directions.(2)Landscape fragmentation of moso bamboo forests in China shows an increasing trend.the number of moso bamboo forest patches increased by 40,570 from 2010 to 2015 and by 45,580 from 2015 to 2020.The growth rates were 25.21%and 22.62%respectively.The expansion of moso bamboo forest area is more dominated by the increase of relatively scattered small patches,and the moso bamboo forest landscape is becoming more and more fragmented,with increased landscape fragmentation,reduced aggregation and lower overall landscape quality.(3)Chinese moso bamboo forests have a significant impact on the forest landscape.In general,moso bamboo forests and the surrounding forest landscape show mutual erosion,but the invasion of moso bamboo forests into other forest landscapes is more obvious,and the invaded forest landscapes are mainly local zonal vegetation.The four provinces most severely affected by the encroachment of moso bamboo forests are Hunan,Fujian,Zhejiang and Jiangxi,and a comparison of the five years before and after shows that the rate of invasion of coniferous,non-forested and broad-leaved forests by moso bamboo forests has doubled.(4)The factors driving the evolution of moso bamboo forest landscape patterns in China are complex.There are many factors driving the evolution of moso bamboo forest landscapes,driven by a combination of location,climate,soil,topography,zoning,population and other factors,both key factors and multiple factors together,and showing spatial and temporal differences.Climatic factors are the most important factors driving the spatial distribution and landscape evolution of moso bamboo forests.The impact of global climate change on the evolution of moso bamboo forest landscape dynamics has gradually emerged.(5)There is a clear trend towards the expansion of moso bamboo forest landscape patterns in China in the future;during 2020-2030,the transfer of moso bamboo forests to other landscape types is characterized by an expanding and gradually accelerating area,and the transfer of other landscape types to bamboo forest landscapes is characterized by unevenness.The future will still be dominated by the expansion of moso bamboo forests encroaching on other landscape types,with deciduous broadleaved forests and non-forest lands as the main invasion objects,and the impact on the pattern of forest ecosystems will gradually increase.The future development of Chinese moso bamboo forests needs to increase the efforts of important ecosystem protection and restoration,maintain the diversity of natural ecosystems,enhance the importance and stability of natural ecosystems,actively explore the comprehensive utilization mechanism of bamboo forest classification and management according to the concept of near-natural management,scientifically optimize the landscape structure and pattern of moso bamboo forests,and give full play to the ecological advantages of bamboo forest landscapes.
