With the accelerating process of globalization,Vietnam China relations have entered a new historical period.In 2004,then Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao paid a friendly visit to Vietnam.During the period,the two governments issued the China Vietnam joint communique,which stressed that the two countries would adhere to the policy of "long-term stability,facing the future,good neighborly friendship and comprehensive cooperation".At the same time,it proposed that the two countries cooperate to build "two corridors and one circle".One belt,one road initiative,was issued by China’s President Xi Jinping in 2013.The two governments actively one belt,one road and two corridors and one circle,and have begun to deepen bilateral cooperation.Therefore,in recent years,Vietnam China relations have been highly concerned by the governments,people,media and international community of Vietnam and China,and each other’s "national image" has become a hot topic of common concern to the two peoples.Film is an important medium for Vietnam and China to shape and spread each other’s images.Since the establishment of diplomatic relations,Vietnam and China have had a good foundation and made some achievements in image exchanges.However,the research on each other’s image and image communication effect in the academic circles of Vietnam and China is weak.Therefore,the author decided to explore the image of Vietnam in the eyes of Chinese film audiences from the perspective of film audiences.In order to complete the research of this subject,the author divides the historical period displayed in the Vietnam related films once released in China into three stages:the early 20 th century to 1978,1979 to 1991 and 1992 to the present,and from "Vietnam National Image","Vietnamese image" and "Vietnam cultural image" And other three aspects to investigate and analyze the image of Vietnam and its communication effect in the eyes of Chinese film audiences.Among them,Vietnam’s national image mainly includes three levels: political diplomacy,social economy and natural resources;The image of Vietnamese mainly includes four levels: national hero,Vietnamese women,enemy and lover;Vietnam’s cultural image mainly includes four levels: family,diet,clothing and voice.This paper mainly adopts four research methods: literature analysis,questionnaire survey,in-depth interview and case analysis,and decomposes the image of Vietnam into film communication symbols to investigate,analyze and study the impression,cognition and evaluation of Chinese audiences,so as to reflect the historical and cultural background of Vietnam,including the relationship between Vietnam and China,At the same time,it preliminarily evaluates the communication effect of Vietnam image created in relevant films on Chinese film audiences.In the research,it is found that the shaping of Vietnam’s image by relevant films can not only meet the entertainment needs of film audiences in different periods,but also carry the significance of mainstream consciousness and the subjective intention of the director.However,because the film communication symbols are vague and polysemy,the directors’ expression methods of Vietnam’s image are also different,coupled with the different backgrounds of each audience,such as education belief,gender,age and other factors affect their cognition,evaluation and impression of "Vietnam national image","Vietnamese image" and "Vietnam cultural image" and their authenticity,and even their attention to them.In this regard,this paper makes a more detailed data statistics and analysis of the survey results,and tries to draw as accurate a conclusion as possible.Finally,in order to enhance the Chinese audience’s recognition of Vietnam’s image at the image level in the future,so as to further deepen the cultural exchanges and friendly cooperation between the two countries,the author not only conducted a preliminary investigation on the number of Vietnamese films in the Chinese film market and the expectations of Chinese film audiences for displaying Vietnam’s image in future films,In addition,it also puts forward some countermeasures and suggestions to strengthen the image exchange between Vietnam and China and the image dissemination of Vietnam.Among them,the analysis focuses on co-production film,from five aspects: the development history and achievements of co-production film between Vietnam and China,the cultural origin between the two countries,the similarities between the two countries at the national level,the Vietnamese film market and the Chinese film market,by using the latest data,this paper comprehensively analyzes and estimates the development prospect of co-production film between Vietnam and China.
