A Study On The Toponymic Culture Of Tumet

This paper selects "Tumet area",a typical core cultural area in the history of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region,the frontier region of the motherland,as the geographical type area and language type area of geographical names for cultural research.Based on the comprehensive and systematic collection and statistics of its synchronic geographical names,based on tumed Department(banner)and its local history,and with reference to Hohhot City chronicles,Baotou City chronicles,and related naturalized cities The historical documents and archives of Salaqi,Tuoketuo,Helinger,Qingshuihe,Wuchuan and other departments(counties)take the historical evolution and development of Tumet Mongols,Han,Hui,Manchu ect various ethnic groups as the main line to explore the development and evolution,linguistic characteristics and cultural connotation of place names in Tumet area formed under the integ development of empirical data and symbols by revealing their cognitive orientation and value significance Cultural and other relevant theoretical dialogue,expound the core of the spirit of pluralism and integration of the Chinese nation contained in its distinctive regional characteristics,so as to enhance people’s understanding of local research in Tumet region,such as geography,history,people’s feelings,customs,etiquette and religion,provide first-hand empirical support materials for the standardized management of Tumet place names,the protection of cultural resources and the inheritance of nostalgic memory,carry forward the excellent traditional Chinese culture and continue the historical context,Strengthen cultural confidence.The paper consists of the following parts:The first part is the introduction.This paper expounds the reasons for the topic selection and the significance of the research;This paper makes an academic review from three aspects: the research status of place names at home and abroad,the research situation of modern place name culture at home and abroad,and the research situation of place name culture in Tumet area at home and abroad;Analyze the research scope,collection and selection of corpus place names,research methods,etc.The second part is the analysis of the historical,linguistic and cultural background of Tumet region and its place names.Firstly,combing the etymology of "Tumet" in previous studies,combined with relevant historical documents and archives,this paper explores the evolution process of its semantics from tribal name to tribal group,mainly under the influence of Alatan Khan’s strategy to the concept of ethnic geography.The decline of ten thousand households in tumed leads to the wide and narrow sense of "tumed banner".This paper clarifies and defines the research scope "tumed area" as the narrow range of activities in the history of its tribe,and describes its relevant temporal and spatial changes.Its former names(including nicknames)such as "chilechuan","baidaochuan","fengzhoutan(chuan)" and "yunzhongchuan" are described,Using the perspective of cultural linguistics and cultural symbol analysis,this paper summarizes the naming motivation and the important cultural information contained in the general proper name,and then lays a foundation for explaining the significance and value of the cultural investigation of regional place names in Tumet area.The second is the analysis of the language and cultural background of place names in Tumet area.It includes: first,it analyzes and expounds the language composition and classification of place names in tumed area from two aspects: the etymological types and morphological structure classification of the four languages mainly involved,such as Chinese,Mongolian,Tibetan and Manchu;Second,from a diachronic perspective,from the three chronological stages of “before the 1670s”,“from the1670 s to the middle of the 20 th century”and“after the founding of new China”,combing,textual research and summarizing the linguistic and cultural background of the formation of multilingual place names in tumed area,and roughly experiencing the transformation process of“Mongolian-Mongolian and Tibetan-Mongolian,Tibetan,Manchu and Chinese-Chinese and Mongolian”.The third part mainly analyzes and explains the language system characteristics of place names in Tumet area from the perspective of linguistic research.It is found that in terms of phonetic characteristics,the syllable composition of place names at the synchronic level in tumed area is mainly three or four syllables,and the types of tone collocation are diverse,so it is different from other regions in listening sense;Some diachronic phonetic changes of place names,such as homonymy,near sound escape,dialect homophony and Chinese character translation of Mongolian place names,reflect the influence of their language use habits and language contact.In terms of the structural types of place names,through qualitative and quantitative methods,this paper analyzes five kinds of Chinese place names(“single proper name type”,“general name type”,“special name general name compound type”,“additional type” and "series type")and three kinds of Mongolian place names(“pure word place name”,derivative place name" and“compound structure place name”)The three types and characteristics of compound language types such as Mongolian and Chinese(“pre additive”,“post complementary”and“pre additive and post complementary”)explain the word composition,grammatical characteristics,pragmatic models and Semantic Connotation and characteristics of many subsystems.According to the word frequency of place names in tumed area,we can sort out the cultural symbols in its special and general names,and excavate its various and unique geographical characteristics,rich and diversified context of place names.The fourth part is the cultural interpretation of place names in Tumet area.On the basis of accurately understanding the content and form of place names in Tumet area,according to the aggregation of special and general name cultural symbols,place place names in large and small systems,and construct several place name cultural subsystems in Tumet area.According to the general stage of the development and evolution of place names in Tumet area,this paper interprets and analyzes its military cultural color,immigrant cultural characteristics,the influence of agricultural reclamation culture,the epitome of business culture Cultural connotation,types and characteristics such as the gradual influence of urban evolution.The geographical names not only reflect the rich historical and cultural development of the region,but also reflect the rich historical and cultural connotation of the region,And the objective fact of the historical development of ethnic relations-the pattern of pluralism and integration of the Chinese nation.The fifth part is about the cultural construction and heritage protection of place names in Tumet area.This paper focuses on the core issues of cultural cognitive value orientation concerned by cultural linguistics,such as the traditional cultural heritage of grassland nomads,the cognitive
