| In the reform of domestic film pattern since the 21 st century,the Shen Guai Film have gradually constructed a complete genre system and aesthetic strategy through more than ten years of genre exploration.As the most distinctive genre film in China(the supernormal genre),their popularity has not only become the focus of industrial technology and industrial field,but also an important cultural phenomenon in the contemporary era.On the one hand,the Shen Guai Films continue the genre origin of the early swordsman and Shen Guai Film,and are constantly undergoing genre evolution and narrative updating;On the other hand,under the dual discipline of commercial and mainstream values,the Shen Guai Film have achieved the representation of cultural values in the context of the new era,expressing and responding to the spiritual attributes and aesthetic values of the mainstream commercial films in the field of cultural values.This paper attempts to start with domestic Shen Guai Film since the 21 st century,by exploring all their development stages,and trying to find out their relevance in different periods.The paper analyzes the genre construction mode of Shen Guai film(i.e.the genre element,genre formula,genre genealogy,etc.)from the perspective of typology,in order to clarify the aesthetic evolution of domestic Shen Guai Film.From the perspective of screen aesthetics and screen narration,it reveals the essence and inherent law of the Shen Guai Films--The formation and evolution of Chinese cultural traditions,aesthetic ideas and aesthetic choices provides a foundation for the construction of the Shen Guai genre,and it is also the deep-seated factors causing the aesthetic differences between the East and the West.While deeply probing aesthetic mechanism and aesthetic imagery,the paper tries to answer the questions of the dynamic mechanism,aesthetic strategy,historical implication,aesthetic trend,aesthetic value,etc.which are created by the Shen Guai Film.By exploring the aesthetic implications from the text to the screen,and by investigating the evolution process from myth to philosophy – a process that the mythological thinking turns to the philosophical thinking,it points out the value landmark of the Shen Guai Films in the contemporary era-the return of the mainstream commercial value of Shen Guai aesthetics and the subject value from "benevolence" to "human",and of “emotion” conveyed by “human”.The paper is divided into five chapters.Chapter one,the upsurge of the Shen Guai Film in the 21 st century.Nowadays,the Shen Guai Films maintain popular while boasting a strong earning power and sustained vitality.Their upsurge has also become an important cultural phenomenon.It is nothing new since the 21 st century that the Shen Guai Film become the main genre and cultural upsurge.Tracing back to the development of Chinese history,we can clearly find out that from the 1920 s to the early 1930 s,the swordsman and Shen Guai Film also took the place of the costume films and swordsman films and thus became the main genre.Therefore,it is obvious that there is an inevitable internal cause,for the genres in two distant times evolve in the same track.The historical implications of "Shen Guai beings" and Shen Guai Film are contained behind the analysis of phenomenon and genre.Chapter two,the genre construction of the Shen Guai Film since the 21 st century.The genre pattern of Chinese films has been changing constantly along with the process of globalization and marketization.Superficially,it is characterized by pluralism and differentiation,while the Chinese film is actually undergoing an orderly evolution.Ever since the 21 st century,after costume films boomed for ten years,Chinese films have gradually embarked on the road of commercial blockbusters.In recent years,the pattern of Chinese film has formed a film market dominated by "Shen Guai blockbusters","phenomenon films" and "screwball comedies",with multiple focuses such as "suspense films","literary films","animated films",etc.As the rare "supernormal genre" in the Chinese film market,the Shen Guai Film have become an important genre that can not be neglected in the construction of national films.From The Promise to Pained Skin,Detective Dee series to Monster Hunt series,Monkey King: Hero is back to Ne Zha,the Shen Guai Film clearly show their evolution path and aesthetic choice.The Shen Guai elements emerging in the ancient costume blockbusters,vaguely reveals the revival of the Shen Guai genre.The Promise ushers in a new era of Shen Guai blockbusters.The serial films arise,making the genre formula of Shen Guai Film present in the established way.Meanwhile,based on the genre formula,more diversified and abundant genre consciousness and concepts are produced.The 21 st century witnesses the second glory of the Shen Guai films,owing to learning multidimensional experience and supplementing new strategies."Hong Kong experience" and "Hollywood experience" have become the effective factors in the genre construction of Shen Guai Films.Simultaneously,the "resource-capital" benefits produced by the reuse of local resources have promoted the development of the Shen Guai Film in pedigree and diversification,casting the brand benefit of Chinese commercial film.Chapter three,the screen aesthetic strategy of the Shen Guai Film since the 21 st century.The new genre aesthetic strategy is one of the important factors that distinguish the early Shen Guai Film.Based on the Shen Guai genre formula,the Shen Guai Film build up time and space which connects the Shen Guai world,the imaginary word,and the real word.This space structure perfectly fits the Shen Guai Genre formula,and outlines the aesthetic prototype of the Shen Guai aesthetics in space-time.Meanwhile,the Shenguai narrative strategy enriches the inner content of Shen Guai films.Firstly,the narrative strategy is analyzed from the space form of screen aesthetics,which mainly shows the characteristics of the Shen Guai narrative strategy and narrative space.Secondly,the Shen Guai screen aesthetics is presented based on the dual construction from the Shen Guai image to the Shen Guai imagery.On the one hand,the Shen Guai image is regarded as the main element of the film,which clearly demonstrates the aesthetic principles of the Shen Guai screen images in character pedigree division,modeling evolution and general aesthetic characteristics.The Shen Guai Film show the modernity of Chinese traditional culture,and on the one hand,the expression of their screen images relies on the imagery origin of the mythical thinking,and it digs the traditional basis of Chinese cultural elements;On the other hand,it also focuses on exploring the modern innovation of local cultural symbols and creating the value appeals and aesthetic implications matching with the new context.Chapter four,the historical and cultural implications of the Shen Guai screen narrative.This chapter starts with the aesthetic form of the Shen Guai narrative,and analyzes the core paradigm of the Shen Guai narrative – the principle and symbolic meaning of "legend narrative paradigm",and points out how the representation of narrative aesthetics evolves.In addition,it studies the aesthetic characteristics of the Shen Guai narrative,especially the differences in the aesthetic choice,transformation and mechanism.Through the analysis in the first two sections,this paper explores the mythological implications of the Shen Guai narrative aesthetics.It further comprehends the relationship between the Shen Guai narrative aesthetics and mythology,mainly by analyzing the mythological characteristics,values and religion,as well as the historical unity and other aspects.At the end of this chapter,this paper expounds the aesthetic significance of the spirit tradition in a modern way,which aims to explore the spiritual and cultural connotation of Shen Guai tradition in the contemporary era.This paper explores the historical foundation and realistic evolution of the Shen Guai tradition construction from the perspective of aesthetics and philosophy,and discusses the concrete manifestation in current Shen Guai films,thus to provide an effective theoretical support for the Shen Guai film genre construction.Chapter five,the aesthetic values of the Shen Guai films since the 21 st century.This chapter mainly discusses the changes of the aesthetic characteristics of Shen Guai films in the contemporary era.Firstly,this paper discriminates Chinese and Western films based on the comparative perspective,by taking Hollywood magic films as contrast texts,and explores how the genre films are generated,developed and the differences and the convergence of their construction mechanism.By doing this,It can draw effective genre and aesthetic experience for the development of Shen Guai Film.Secondly,this paper analyzes and studies the aesthetic turn and aesthetic value dimension of the current Shen Guai Film.It shows the uniqueness and epochal nature of Shen Guai Films,regardless of the context of the times,its own genre variation,cultural expression and value presentation.As the value landmark of the current mainstream commercial films,the Shen Guai Film highlight the humanistic concerns and indigenous cultures,providing effective experiences for the construction of national commercial films. |
