Research On Educating People Of University Student Associations In The New Era

The new era of socialism with Chinese characteristics is a great era in which university students can and will make great achievements.The new journey of achieving the second centenary goal and building China into a great modern socialist country in all respects which requires the active participation of university students in the new era.The report of the Twentieth National Congress of the Communist Party of China pointed out,nation will prosper only when its young people thrive.Nowadays,the young people of China are living in a remarkable time.They have an incomparably broad stage on which to display their full talents,and they have incomparably bright prospects of realizing their dreams.The Party and the state have high hopes on young people.Colleges and universities should strive to meet the expectations of the people and take developing education that meets the people’s expectations as the starting point and end result of planning and promoting the work.At present,the higher education of China has entered the popularization stage.Facing a period of major change of the world that’s rarely seen in a century and the overall strategy of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation,colleges and universities should adapt to the changes in the major social contradictions in the new era and explore a new way to lead the future talent training.As an important supplement to the classroom teaching,university student associations are an important carrier of the second classroom.Under the current historical background,it is a great significance to make a profound study on educating people of university student associations in the new era for fostering virtue through education and responding to the theme of the times.The main contents of this paper are as follows:First,it defines the relevant concepts of university student associations in the new era,and introduces the role of student associations in fostering virtue through education.On the basis of explaining the concepts of associations,student associations and university student associations,this part introduces the types,mechanisms and characteristics of student associations educating people,and also focuses on the unique role of university student associations in the new era in enhancing the sense of responsibility of university students,connecting the Party and League organizations with university students,and cultivating university students’ sense of collectivism,socialism and patriotism.It is helpful to fully understand and grasp the essence of educating people by university student associations in the new era.Second,deeply analyzing the theoretical basis and ideological source of the educational function of university student associations in the new era to provide a solid theoretical basis and ideological source for the educational function of university student associations.This part combs the Marxist theory of Marxist classical writers on the relationship between man and society,including the theoretical content that sociality is the essential attribute of man,man exists and develops in social relations,and practice is the basis of social life.It explains the educational thoughts of Marxism with Chinese characteristics and modernization,including the thoughts of cultivating talents who are both socialist-minded and professionally competent,cultivating new people with ideals,morals,talents and self-discipline,two all-round developments,and cultivating new people capable of shouldering the mission of national rejuvenation.It draws on educational thoughts of the excellent traditional Chinese culture.Third,it combs the development process of university student associations since the founding of the People’s Republic of China,and summarizes the basic experience of the educational function of university student associations.From the founding of the People’s Republic of China in 1949 to the successful convening of the 20 th National Congress of the Communist Party of China,university student associations experienced a historical process from initial development to gradually maturity,and then to prosperity.In more than 70 years,university student associations have accumulated rich and valuable experience in educating people,mainly including four aspects,adhering to the leadership of the Party over associations,take the dissemination of Marxism as the guidance,realize the effective combination of university curriculum education and social practice education,and highlighting the role of students.Fourthly,this paper investigates and analyzes the situation of the educational function of university student associations in the new era in the form of questionnaires.The survey result shows that the overall educational effect of university student associations in the new era is significant.However,there are still some problems,which are specifically reflected in the lack of targeted application of Marxist theory to solve student ideological problems,insufficient integration of student association activities with social practice,and the existence of entertainment and utilitarianism in student associations.The main reasons for the problem of educating students in university student associations in the new era include misunderstandings among university students about the nature and function of associations,lack of scientific guidance from the Party and the League organizations on student associations,significant influence of multiculturalism on student associations,and nonstandard management of student associations.Fifthly,it clarifies the guiding ideology,objectives and principles of the educational function of university student associations in the new era.Guided by the important discourse of General Secretary Xi Jinping on youth ideological and political work,it expounds the main objectives of educating people by university student associations in the new era: which are encouraging students to strive for the realization of the second centenary goal,carrying forward the socialist culture with Chinese characteristics,and promoting the all-round development of students’ morality,intelligence,physique,beauty and labor.At the same time,this chapter also clarifies that in the new era,university student associations should adhere to the fundamental principles of socialist education direction,the basic principles of collaborative education,the unity of explicit education and implicit education.Sixthly,it puts forward the innovation countermeasures of the educational function of university student associations in the new era.First of all,strengthen the ideological guidance of university student associations.Adhere to the belief in Marxism,the lofty ideal of communism and the common ideal of socialism with Chinese characteristics,the Chinese Dream of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation and “the confidence in the path,theory,system and culture” to lead the construction of associations;The second is to strengthen the organizational construction of university student associations.Strengthen the guidance of the Party and the League organizations,strengthen the construction of ideological and political associations and voluntary public welfare associations,strengthen the supervision and guidance of network associations,and build a pattern of student associations’ “big ideological and political” education model;Third,strengthen the cultural construction of university student associations.University student associations should strive to improve the cultural quality of the members,give full play to the edifying influence of characteristic campus culture,make full use of the advanced cultural resources of the new media,spread the excellent traditional Chinese culture through cross-cultural exchanges,so that teachers and students can be educated,nurtured and infected in colorful cultural activities;Last but not least,improve the institutional guarantee of university student associations.Universities should start from establishing and improving the cooperative mechanism of educating students by student associations,improving the system of guiding teachers by student associations,and establishing the material guarantee mechanism of educating students by student associations,so as to comprehensively improve the level of educating students by student associations in universities.
