The demand for high-frequency,miniaturized RF devices and antennas has promoted the great development of integrated circuit and integrated antenna technologies.With the increasing test requirements for integrated circuits(antennas),the maturity of related millimeter-wave(mm Wave)/Terahertz(THz)measurement technologies has materialized.RF probes and mm Wave/Terahertz probe stations have become necessary test equipment to measure circuit characteristics of integrated circuits.The probe-based mm Wave/Terahertz integrated antenna measurement setups undertake most of the circuit(radiation)tests on integrated antennas.Integrated antenna measurements in the mm Wave band are full of challenges.To improve measurement accuracy,the requirements for the performance and accuracy of test equipment have been greatly enhanced.The improvement of traditional test methods and the demand for new test methods and technologies have being growing.Yet,a few technical issues that related to integrated antenna measurements have not been addressed or still awaiting explanations or solutions.This dissertation focuses on the mm Wave integrated antenna measurement technology.It starts from understanding the antenna measurement setups and analyzing the measurement problems.Then,using mature solutions,or propose new approaches to explaining or solving those test problems.The main contribution of this dissertation can be summarized as follows:(1)A quasi-in-air-based mm Wave antenna measurement setup is precisely modeled and simulated,a complete evaluation strategy is given,and an index parameter is proposed to quantitatively characterize the performance of the test environment.Simulation results and conclusion analysis are given,the improvement on the setup is qualitatively verified based on experimental results.(2)Radiation mechanism,characteristics and regulations of several ACP probes with different tip pitches and shell structures are studied by modeling and analyzing,circuit characteristics of the probes are evaluated,the traditional gain comparison method is improved,the simulated and measured results are verifyied with comparison,and the impact of probe radiation on the AUT radiation test is analyzed.(3)Based on the thought of radiation,an accurate probe radiation calibration method based on the radiation addition principle and a probe radiation de-embedding method based on the radiation subtraction principle are proposed.A pair of antennas with heterogeneous radiation are designed and fabricated,the effectiveness of the two methods is verified by simulation and measurement.The spherical wave modal filtering method for reflection suppression in electromagnetic environment is studied,and the intrinsic radiation characteristics of the AUT are obtained.
