Integrating drilling, coring, seismic, regional geological investigation report and field surveys, etc. besides, using sedimentary petrology, modern stratigraphy, pale ontology and geophysics, to divide on the formation and comparative study for n-orth China from T3 to N. In formation on the basis of geographical and stratig-raphic division, by selecting representative wells from the main basin, to establish two north-south and four east-western stratigraphic correlation sections across the region. Each region will be compared between Cenozoic and Mesozoic. Redefining the various rock strata in the top and bottom limits of the times and Clearing distribution of the lithostratigraphic units through regional stratigraphic correlateo-n.Through the core observation and field profiles measured, to study mesozoic s-edimentary environments and facies by combining seismic analysis of phase and 1-ogphase. Identified the main types of sedimentary facies since mesocenozoic accor-ding to geographical location and a combination of factors such as mobile systems. In the study area there are mainly continental deposits, which commonly contain-ns five types:the alluvial facies, fluvial facies, lacustrine del-ta, shallow lake and deep lake-Semi-deep lake.Defined the geographical features of ancient through source and paleoclimate analysis. Reestablished the palaeogeographic evolution process of rock in north Ch-ina from T3 to N, to reveal the spatial and temporal evolution on the developm-ent characteristics and sedimentary filling in different types of basins in north China. In general, since the Late Triassic in northern China, fold was large in most of the geological history, ancient geographical landscape was complex, intense volcanic activity, mountains and basins everywhere. Oil and gas resources which used dark mudstone from continental lake as source rocks were formed. The distribution law of oil and gas resources, about reserves and production, was systematical summarized in main basin in north China. Then, to Investigate how lithofacies palaeogeography controlling oil and gas resources, and to find our lithofacies paleographic condition which control the quality and efficient source rocks and favorable combination of reservoir. Finally, Favorable regions were pre-dicted.
