Seismic attribute is a specific measuring derived from pre-stack or post-stack seismic data by mathematical manipulation which involves geometric, kinematics, dynamic and statistics characteristics of seismic wave. Seismic attribute contains abundant information, which is reflection to different geological information and is a quantity of seismic characteristic describing geological information such as stratigraphic configuration, lithology and physical appearance. Seismic multi-attribute technology is just an analysis and application to those attributes derived from seismic data.The paper summarizes the developing history briefly and talks about Geophysical basis, classification, mathematical calculation, extracting and optimization of seismic attributes systematically. And then it analyzes the geological factors affecting seismic attributes and the geological application of seismic attributes.On the basis of theoretical research, seismic attribute is applied in reservoir prediction of the Ordovician carbonate rocks in Tazhong. Through the research to seismic attribute and the combination with drilling and regional geology, the main sedimentary facies of Ordovician Lianglitage group and Yingshan group are divided and the favorable reservoirs are trapped.The main work is as follows:Firstly, the paper systematically researches and summarizes the development, classification, mathematical calculation, extracting and optimization of seismic attributes. And it analyzes the main geological factors which affect seismic attributes and sums up the transform from seismic attributes to geological application.Secondly it studies the tectonic evolution, stratigraphic subdivision and the types and characteristics of Ordovician sedimentary facies.It studies the basic types of reservoir, the formation of several typical reservoirs such reef and karst cave, and their seismic response.Moreover, on the basis of regional geology, three dimensional seismic data in Tazhong is interpreted precisely by using man-machine interface interpretation system with the combination of drilling data and synthetic seismogram. And the constructional drawing of Lianglitage group and Yingshan group is made.In addition, comprehensively using what have studied above, nine seismic attributes such as the RMS amplitude, average instantaneous frequency and effective band width are selected to analyze. And the sedimentary facies and favorable reservoirs of Lianglitage group and Yingshan group are divided.In a word, this paper comprehensively studies seismic multi-attribute to instruct practical application and at the same time develops seismic attribute in practice. Meanwhile, this paper combines the practical application with the theory and explores the method of reservoir prediction of the Ordovician carbonate rocks in Tazhong.
