In this paper,we consider the finite volume element method and mixed volume element method for the semi-linear pseudo-parabolic equation,construct the discrete scheme and obtain the error estimates of this two discrete solutions.In this paper, the following semi-linear pseudo-parabolic equation is simulated by two new methods called finite volume method and mixed volume element method..Our analysis shows that the latter method not only inherits the advantages of mixed finite volume method.Then we simulate the above semi-linear pseudo-parabolic equation by mixed fi-nite volume method based on the third chapter.The mixed finite volume procedures for this problem are proposed. And we propose the auxiliary formulation and give the error analysis. Numerical analysis shows that we can obtain the optimal error estimates of L2-norm and (?)·(?)1,h-norm about the unknown function by this method.
