With the increasing depletion of metal ores in shallow areas, the seeking of alternative resources in depth areas (500-2000m) has become imminent, and its strategic position has been upgraded to national level. For the improvement of geological exploration methods and techniques in recent years, seeking alternative resources in depth areas becomes the focus part.The copper polymetallic ore in Jiangshan, Zhejiang province is the research object in this paper. For the position in the junction area of the two major tectonic units, so, it has a great potential for mineralization, and the breakthrough of prospection is easy to obtain. However, with the low level of geological research in this area, the progress for seeking ores is not obvious. Therefore, selecting an appropriate geophysical method for comprehensive geological study of mineral is an important topic in this area.The controlled source audio magnetotelluric method has good results for finding metal mining in blind and depth area for its great depth prospection, higher distinguishing ability and excellent work efficiency, which can have accurate positioning for the spatial location of body structure and metal ore. So, it becomes the most commen and effective geophysical prospecting method for mineral resources explorationin in depth area.The development and application of CSAMT method have been overviewed on the basis of collecting a large numver of papers. And based on the in—depth understanding of CSAMT theoretical mehods, the working method of CSAMT, ovservation parameters selection and CSAMT common law factors:static effects, topographic effects, fake extreme and noise elimination have been discussed. And then mineralization causes and geophysical characteristics in study area have been researched, while the survey grid layouts with targeting. Therefore, a practical CSAMT method has been summarized: near-field data processing, terrain correction and static correction. With data processing, the inversion results can be closer to the actual geological conditions; According to the analysis results of three measured lines iversion processing, and combining with the IP key parts of data, the key area for mineralization has been determined.Finally, from the analysis results of drill data, the effect of CSAMT method in copper polymetallic ore prospection is obvious, and it can provide favorable references for copper polymetallic prospection in other regional areas.
