A nearest-orbit pairing model for description of transitional nuclei is reinvestigated. By using the Nilsson model as the mean-field, and taking both proton-proton and neutron-neutron pairing as residue interactions, as the application of the model, binding energies, pairing excitation energies, even-odd mass differences, especially moment of inertia of low excited states of 120-138Ba, 114-136Xe,114-136Te isotopes are calculated, and compared with the corresponding experimental data. The results show that the model is suitable to be used to describe these nuclei as far as binding energies, pairing excitation energies, even-odd mass differences, and moment of inertia are concerned.
