The Studies Of Species Diversity And Breeding Ecology Of Amphibians In Mut. Dabie Of Henan Province

Mt. Dabie of Henan Province was in the junction of three provinces, Henan, Hubei and Anhui. Lying in the north of the main ridge of Mt. Dabie, it is the Watershed of Yangtze and Yellow river, containing the southern part of xinyang city, luoshan, xinxian, guangshan, huaibin, shangcheng, and the mountains and hills of gushi county ,the hightest elevation is 1534 meters, and the average is 340 meters, belonging to Medium and low altitude mountains range.The limit to the animals is not obvious, animals from the southern and northern parts are mutual penetrated and cross-distributed here, showing a clear transition..The investigation of resource status of the amphibian of 7 counties, 15 Survey sites is processed by Transect method, Cataloging and Access Method from November of 2007 to October of 2009, and we aslo studies breeding ecology of Yeirana yei. The results are as follows: 1) There are 22 species of amphibians, attaching to 2 orders, 8 families,17 genus. 2) Floristic compositions are in Oriental realm main,and there are also Cosmopolitan realm and Palaearctic realm. 3) the Pelophylax plancyi of Mt. Dabie should be Pelophylax hubeiensis. 4) We spoted and named a new subspecies of tailed amphibian: Tylototriton wenxianensis dabienicus sp. nov. 5) Yeirana yei begin the yearly out of hibernation in early March, begin breeding at early April, and reach their peak in mid to late april, and end their breeding in early april; the secondary sexual characteristics is clear, and there is no amplexus during breeding.Finally, the conservation of amphibians in Mt. Dabie of Henan Province was discussed and protection proposals were put forward .
