Karst collapse is one of the primary geologic; hazards in covered-karst zone.According to the primary geologic hazards—Karst collapse in Kunming New Airport. From the angle of changing of groundwater environment, the foring origins and mechanism of karst collapse have been studied systematically by means of siol mechanics, unsaturated soil mechanics, groundwater dynamics and elastic mechanics.1)Based on the karst collapse dates of zone in Kunming New Airport and the three elements of karst collapse, especially the exchanging relationship between groundwater surrounding and rainwater, this paper discusses the forming condition and induced factors.2)By analyzing the cause of karst collapse dates, the main cause of formation of karst collapse appeared. And the effect mechanism, which is analyzed from two aspects such as wetting-intenerate effect,load-increased effect of water, is put forward.3)According to the theory of arch and the limit equilibrium theory, the formula of equilibrium soil-hole in inter-collapse phase and the mechanics model of surface-collapse phase are established.4)For more proof for above mechanisms, three researches have been done. The first is the research about surface water infiltration collaps. In the research, sensibility facter has been presented. Using the numerical simulation, the mechanism of this kind of collaps has been proved.
