Oil shale is a kind of solid combustible mineral, it generated by the long-time corruption and coalification. With the world economy rapid development, conventional oil resources near to depletion and International oil prices continued to rise, its storage tremendous, and has a broad prospect, oil shale has attracted worldwide attention as an important complementary and alternative energy sources.Jilin is a "poor energy resource Province" with litte conventional energy resource, but its oil shale resources is abundant, especially for Huadian oil shale, it has higher oil yeild and calorific, belong to high-quality oil shale, its oil shale resource focus and hidden deep, appr-opriate to in-situ conversion development. Therefore, the development of oil shale resourc-es in Jilin Province has a very important energy reserve status. Hence, our University under-took an item of potential oil and gas resources (oil shale exploration and exploitation) coop-erative and innovative research projects. Undertaken system of oil shale research and devel-opment to solve our energy shortage and ensure strategic resources security. Among them, the research of thermal physical properties and electrical physical properties of oil shale are the premises to comprehensive utilization oil shale.In this paper, two different layers of Huadian oil shale were selected. In the basic of oil shale density, moisture and oil yeild, thermal physical properties and electrical physical properties of oil shale are researched by theoretical, experimental and comparative analysis. In respect of thermal physical properties, hot-wire method is used to measure parallel and vertical thermal conductivity of bedding surface under normal temperature and pressure, measured specific heat by cooling mixed method under normal temperature and pressure, according to the formula derived thermal diffusivity, through German NETZSCH high-temperature thermal expansion measurement to analysis oil shale thermal expansion coefficient changes between 0~600℃In respect of electrical physical properties of oil shale, four-electrode is used to measure conductivity in the range of 0~750℃, use parallel plate capacitor to measure different dielectric constants and loss tangents at 0~700℃and 10-150KHz.In this paper, summarize the rules and correlative data of the physical characteristics of oil shale is acquired by those tests, as to comprehensive development and utilization oil shale, especially provide theoretical parameters for microwave heating oil shale and electric or electromagnetic heating oil shale underground cracking process.
