The aim of operation of petroleum geology research is the fundament of exploring the oil and gas resources and creating new oil blocks, the major petroleum production countries are all putting emphasis on the petroleum geology research. our country have already began the much deeper petroleum geological study at some littoral regions and inland basins which do not enjoy a comprehensive study. The target area of this paper locals at southeast of Qing Hai province, it is the transition area among northeastern Tibet plateau and western Qin mountains and loess plateau, where possesses very complicated tectonic characters that were formed during the a long period of geological evolution. The researc level of petroleum geology is relatively low in this district, so far no any petroleum geology research have been made in this area, the nearby Gonghe basin is the only area where enjoyed a general survey but no any good news obtained. This paper based on the research project of Investigation at Tong Ren District in Qing Hai Province for Mineral Resources, which has been operated by the research group of Chang'an University from 2008. We have accomplished very serious survey in the district and have a fundamental knowladge of the qualities and characters of the mineral resources in this district, meanwhile we have measured the section of Long Wu river and assistant section at Qi Yuegongma area, and therefore having a better understand of the feature of strata and tectonics, also summarizing the sedimental evolution op the basin. The author have seperated the section to five segments of different lithology and contrasted with the regional standard section. We also have analyzed the petroleum geological conditions of Zeku retro-arc foreland basin based on the pre-exploration degree, analyzing the geological conditions of source rock, reservoir, cover rock, accumulating and consevation. Due to some man made reasons, we cannot carry out geochemical analysis of the rock samplers, but through studying the basic geological condition of the basin, we belive it is less likely that the huge petroleum reservoir could exist but the smaller ones could be much more possible.
