The presence of missing data in a database is a phenomenon that every researcher is liable to meet during their work. Although the bias which can be generated by an inadequate treatment of non-response is known for a long time [27], the knowledge on the effectiveness of various methods used in the treatment of missing values is not yet fully explored. This study aims to apply the techniques used in the treatment of missing values in the calculation of the morbidity and mortality linked to Malaria in Koulikoro in Mali during the period from April to June 2005. The main problem that missing data poses is that it is impossible not to take missing values into consideration during the application of a statistical analysis method. The majority of these methods had been developed to deal with a matrix of incomplete data. In this document the statistical theories on incomplete data sets are presented and then applied on the data of Koulikoro from Malian National Malaria Control Program.
