In recent years a class of second order elliptic equations with special nonlinearities has been derived from discussing the Micro-Electro-Mechanical System named MEMS equations. The main aspects of current research focus on the existence of the classical solution of the equations and the bifurcation properties of the solutions. In this dissertation we mainly study the existence of the classical solutions for the MEMS equations with divergent type, and the solution for MEMS equations with variable coefficient and the bifurcation properties for nonlinear MEMS equations.
