This thesis is devoted to construct a theoretical model of aⅤ-type three-level atom-cavity system, and wo study the steady properties of the atom in the cavity.Using the Born-Markovian approximation, we derive the deduced dy-namics of theⅤ-type three-level atom-cavity system interacting with the reservoir, obtain the steady properties of the atom, including the atomic populations, the properties of the atomic population inversion W(t), the relation between atomic coherence and dipole force, the effects of correc-tion of atomic coherence on the correction of the dipole force, as well as the difference of these properties derived from the exact model and the model under the approximation of eliminating populations of atomic ex-cited states. We demonstrate the validity of the adiabatic approximation of elimi-nating populations of atomic excited states. This is reflected in the correc-tion of populationsδ, the value of which is 10-3-10-2. We further find the correction of the dipole force, and it is found that in ordinary experi-ments of quantum dynamics the correction of the atomic populations and coherence will not notably affect the dipole forces on the atom.
