The complexity of geological system is a puzzled question for geologists. Fractal theory and methods can help geologists ignore the disordered, irregular geological phenomena, and reveal the internal laws of geological system.Based on the Fractal theory and principles of statistics, the simple fractal analysis and multi-fractal analysis are used to process various geological exploration data. The fractal characteristics of thickness of main ore body of Dongguashan copper deposit is analyzed by simple statistics fractal model. Taking multi-fractal feature parameters of the mass index, multi-fractal singularity spectrum and generalized dimension as tools, we analyze the grade distribution in different exploration lines of the Dongguashan copper deposit, and further discuss the geological factors for causing the complex variation of ore body. By using of the content-area method, the multi-fractal characteristics of chemical elements in the Wuzhujian area of Anqing are analyzed, and their geochemistry and ore-forming potential are also discussed according to it.The main outcomes in this thesis include the following 3 aspects:(1) The simple multi-fractal statistics of the variation of ore body thickness is conducted in the major exploration lines in the Dongguashan copper deposit. The variation regularity of ore body thickness and its controlling factors are discussed based on the multi-fractal features.(2) The multi-fractal statistics of Cu grade along the major exploration lines in the Dongguashan copper deposit are calculated. It is concluded that, the Cu grade distribution is multi-fractal and the complex regularity of spatial variation of Cu grade, described by its multi-fractal characteristics, should by controlled by multi-factors.(3) The petrological geochemical exploration data of 19 elements are processed by the multi-fractal statistical analysis in the Wuzhujian, Anqing Yueshan. The anomaly threshold of each element is determined by the fractal features, and the ore-forming potential of each element is also discussed. It is concluded that Au is most likely to form ore deposit.
