With the development of optical fiber communication and the advent of information era and the more demanding requirement of the capacity of communication and bandwidth, optical passive components is playing an increasingly important role in optical communication . Optical passive components with fiber coupler are playing an important role in optical netwok,and the research of fiber ring with fiber coupler has long been a hot topic. The previous researches combined coupler and one-arm-sharing Mach - Zehnder interferometer(MZI), but the research of MZI with two-arm-sharing ring resonator is not enough.In this thesis ,we proposed two new double-coupler ring resonator which based on ring resonator,one of the structure is fiber ring resonator with two couplers and a mirror and the other is"8"shape fiber ring resonator with two couplers.Then we combined the two new double-coupler ring resonator and fiber Bragg grating(FBG) and MZI together.Therefore we designed three new MZI with two-arm-sharing ring resonator.The optical field relations of each port of the two new double-coupler ring resonator and power ratio of input and output optical light are derived and the results are simulated numerically. We discussed the transmission characteristics and the filter characteristics of the two structures in detail. And then discussed the possibility of the structures used for optic switch.The three new MZI with two-arm-sharing ring resonator are designed: MZI with two-arm-sharing mirror ring resonator, MZI with two-arm-sharing FBG ring resonator and MZI with"8"shape two-arm-sharing ring resonator.The output characteristics of the three new MZI are discussed and the optical field relations of each port of the structures are derived and the expression of transmittance of the three structures is given. The filtering properties of the structures are simulated numerically. And the possibility and the advantage of the structures used for optic switch are discussed and analyzed. We believe that these structures will play a role in the optical network.
