The Daya Bay Reactor Neutrino Experiment, which is lead mainly by American and Chinese scientists, is a big international collaboration which aims at searching neutrinos with the solid angleθ13. The primary part of the background comes from cosmic ray. Water Cerenkov and RPC (Resistance Plat Chamber) detectors are adopted for background correction.The readout system of RPC detectors consisted of Front-End Cards (FEC), Readout Transceiver (ROT), VME Readout Modules (ROM), VME RPC Trigger Module and VME Clock Distribution Module (CDM).This thesis mainly discusses the design and test of the VME Clock Distribution Module and the USB Optical Readout Module. In the RPC readout system, the VME Clock Distribution Module receives signals from the electronics center of the whole experiment, and distributes these signals to the RPC readout subsystem: ROM, RTM, etc. The USB Optical Readout Module is used to validate the design of the ROT and FEC before they can be reproduced for installation; furthermore, it plays an important role in the development of the optical transmission system which is adopted in the RPC readout system.The thesis first introduces the Physical objectives, background and the layout of the Neutrino Experiment, together with the introduction of the RPC electronics readout system. The main feature of the thesis is the design and test of the VME Clock Distribution Module and the USB Optical Readout Module, especially the design of hardware, FPGA firmware and the relative DAQ (data acquisition) software on PC. At last the thesis introduces the test methods, procedure and results for these devices.
