With the theory of sedimentology and continental sequence stratigraphy about the faulted basin, the sedimentary system of the upper 4th member of Sha Hejie Formation of Eogene Period in the west of Shengtuo area, Donging depression is studied on the basis of geological, seismic, logging, and testing data.According to the six unconformity surfaces identified, the upper Sha 4 is divided into two fourth-order sequences (sequence SB1,SB2) using 3D seismic, logging and well logging data. Through studying depositional setting and analyzing the characteristic of sand distribution, combined with the variations of eigenelement and detrital component content, it can be inferred that Chenjiazhuang uplift in the north area is the provenance of the upper Sha 4 in southern Shengtuo area.Considering the horizontal distribution of sand percents, logging facies, seismic facies and seismic attributies, together with the provenance direction, both the distribution and the principal characters of the sedimentary facies of Sha 4 are analyzed comprehensively.Based on the analysis of facies marks, single-well facies and cross-sectional facies, Es4cs mainly developed the sedimentary facies of nearshore subaqueous fan, deep-water turbidite fan and deep to semi-deep lake etc. Specifically, the nearshore subaqueous fan mainly occurred in the uplifted wall of Shengbei Fault(Tuo94 well block), while the downthrown wall( Tuo71 well block) mainly developed the deep water turbidite fan facies and the deep to semi-deep lake facies .
