The rapid development of metamaterials allows us to freely design the electromagnetic parameters of the object. Based on this, the scientists proposed the"transformation optics". In recent years, transformation optics has become a very active new field. It can control the propagation of electromagnetic waves by using metamaterials. Many researchers have designed various novel transformation medium devices based on this theory. They can realize functionalities that were thought to be possible only in scientific fictions. The invisibility cloak is the first transformation medium device. In contrast to it, the researchers design a transformation medium device with totally opposite functio. The scattering cross-section of an object will be enlarged several times using such devices. It is named"superscatterer".In this thesis, we comprehensively study the electromagnetic characteristics of two-dimensional cylindrical superscatterer basing on transformation optics. After giving a minute description of the basic equations of transformation optics, we firstly design a layered structure of the two-dimensional cylindrical superscatterer. The functionality of the layered structure is numerically verified by full-wave simulations. Then we study the superscatterer with a non-PEC core. When the restoring medium is filled in different places, we give the geometry structures and simulation results separately. In addition, we combine the superscatterer with the invisible umbrella and discuss the situation when the"antiobject"existing. Finally, we discuss the coordinate transformation of the rotation cloak and introduce it to superscatterer, which has a folded coordinate transformation function. Then We study the combination of them.In this thesis, we first proposed to use concentric layered structure of homogeneous isotropic materials to realize the superscatterer. It lay a good foundation for future experimental researching. To combine the theory of superscatterer and invisible umbrella, we design an new illusion device. It can make a circular shell appears exactly like a square cylinder of some other shape and material makeup. By first introducing the rotation transformation to the coordinate transformation of superscatterer, we can make an object in the core seems like a bigger one and its position information can be shifted and rotated.
