Formation effectiveness evaluation is one of the important contents and difficulties of log evaluation in low porosity and permeability reservoirs. In this thesis, theoretical analyze on flexural wave is made by numerical methods, and formation permeability inversion methods using the flexural wave attenuation and frequency shift is studied. On the basis of Biot theory, the propagation law of the acoustic field in the fluid-filled borehole within isotropic fluid-saturated porous medium is studied. In addition, the curve of dipole flexural wave is computed using the method of partial wave analysis. The attenuation and frequency shift of flexural wave is numerically simulated under different permeability and porosity conditions. The results show that the attenuation increases with the increasing permeability and also shows good sensitivity of it.Thus,it is feasible to compute formation permeability by the flexural wave attenuation;A decrease of the the flexural wave central frequency in some degree, shows the feasibility of frequency shift permeability inversion. The deeper exploration depth of the flexural wave than the stoneley wave shows that the flexural wave permeability inversion has some advantages.Based on the least square theory, the calculating method of permeability inversion with the attenuation of flexural wave is researched and the field dipole full wave data is processed. The results show that formation permeability can be estimated well by flexural wave attenuation and frequency shift. Also, they show good consistency with permeabilities including core samples analysis permeability, log interpretation permeability, and stoneley wave inverting permeability.Further,in some section ot the well, specific analysis is made on the flexural wave permeability which is different from the ones deviated from other methods, and possible causes are given.Permeabilities can be inverted from XX component and YY component of flexural wave, respectively.Along with other data, they can be used to evaluate formation anisotropy.
