The singularity detection of the physical parameters in the crust has a great significance in the geophysical exploration. In general, the seismic data we collected contains a lot of singularity information which not only reflects the reservoir heterogeneity of the physical properties but also gives significant direction to the identification and prediction of the oil and gas reservoir. With development of the research, the singularity based on wavelet transform breaks the limitation of the Fourier Transform in the time domain and frequency domain, which focuses on any details of the signal. Wavelet Transform is always used during the procession of the seismic data in the time and frequency domain to handle with discrete or continuous signals, so as to reveal the seismic singularity and characterize the change of the underground media. The reservoir heterogeneity of the physical properties could generate the sudden change of the observed seismic and log data, which leads to form the singularity pots. The singularity information that detracted from the seismic data can be regarded by as an attribute to depict the boundary of the seismic stratigraphic in order to help with the seismic interpretation. In addition, this attribute can be served as a meaningful tool to process the medium impendence and velocity inversion. In the field of the reservoir prediction and recognition, the research of the physical properties based on the singularity detection calculated by seismic and well log data gradually grasps our attention. The key point of the singularity detection is the realization of the quantified prediction of the reservoir boundary and the recognition of the reservoir, which needs us to enhance the measurement of the mutation data and the detection of the singularity detection. This paper is based on the Wavelet Transform and the fractal theory of seismic data to determine the criteria for singularity of the seismic, and meanwhile, the quantitative relationship between the singularity and the physical properties is analyzed and used to apply to the practical research in the actual reservoir prediction. The onset function is introduced in this paper to expend the traditional strata conversional model. The singularity information is applied to quantify the physical characteristics of the mutant seismic data, so that it can simulate and measure various strata of the transition boundaries accurately. What's more, this paper studies the transmission of the singularity information between the impendence and the synthetic seismograms, and attempts to inverse the impendence from the singularity in order to improve the general inversion of the final result. Results from the real seismic data reflect the validity of the singularity based on wavelet transform.
