Coal-bed methane, being a clean and new energy source, has beenexploited as one of the mineral resources. But at present its extraction isin the phase of industrial test and its extraction method, technique andtheory haven't been formed and perfected. So its extraction industry hasjust begun.In the paper, from the requirement of the exploitation of coal-bedmethane and using crossed theory of many subjects such as osmoticmechanics, hydrogeology and fluid mechanics, the existing state of waterand coal-bed methane and the factors affecting the permeability areanalysed. In addition, the transfer rule of water-gas two-phase flow in theseam is discussed, building the mathematical model of action relation,meanwhile the test research into two-phase flow's relative permeability incoal and the solubility of coal-bed methane in water has been done andtheir rule is found. In the end the paper points out the action and influenceof ground water on the existence of coal-bed methane and transfer rule.Therefore the paper offers the theoretical basis for the extractiontechnique of coal-bed methane.
