| Salt ground water is a prospective substitute for the seawater in aquaculture because of its character of virus-free and no direct access to the virus-contained seawater. The cause of its formation in Jiaozhou area is discussed, the distribution characteristics of chemical elements contained in it and its application in aquaculture were also investigated. Saltrine water intrusion and the dilution of the brine water by fresh water in adjacent estuary is mainly responsible for the formation of salt groundwa~r in., which is located in northwest of Jiaozhou Bay. .The analytical results of the ground water sample indicate that the relative concentration of most of the chemical elements in salt groundwater is near to the corresponding parts in sea water, The primary deviation are as follows: 1) A series of scatter diagrams for the major elements of water sample demonstrate that the value of S0427C have a markedly decrease and the value of Ca2/ClX Mg2/Cl\ Na/CV have a increase compared with those in sea water, morever, the essential mechanisms that result in the variations of the compositions are explored, which include the redox, exchanged absorption, dissolving combined with the concrete geological environment. 2) The value of Ca /Mg , which is proved to be an important factor for shrimp healthy growth ,ranging from 1.46 .84 is less than the ratio in seawater; the orthogonal design was employed to study the effect of the concentration of Ca /Mg and Ca2+Mg2 on survival and growth of Penaeus japonicus, the experiment result demonstrate that both of the factors are related to the growth of shrimp, furthermore, there is an interaction existed in them. 3) A substantial difference in trace elements in salt groundwater as opposed to those in seawater is the concentration of Iron and Manganese, which is about 1 orders of magnitude higher than those in sea water, the low Ph and strong deoxidizing of the environment contribute to the production of Fe2 and Mn2. In addition, the variation of the ratio of Mn2/Fe2 in different area is also discussed. The correlation between the concentration of Cu2 -. Pb2 .. Zn2. Cd2 and the salinity are also illustrated, Cu2 and Zn2 show significant negative relationship and positive relationship with Cl respectively, which suggest that the two elements are conservative ,that is to say, there is no evident addition or wiping off of them caused by outer factors. 4) Analytical result of the nutrient concentration of the sample revealed that NH4 was the primary existing form of DIN, which may due to the decomposition of the organic matter existed in sediment. Higher concentration of Si032 was also detected as a result of the transfer of silicate from the clay sediment absorbed a mass of silicate, The diatom is inoculated into the pond, Since the release of oxygen through the photosynthesis of the diatom can be used to supplment the deficient DO, moreover, the pH can also be improved to about 8.5, which is the favorable condition for the healthy growth of shrimp. |
