Wushan county town is one of the key areas which have to emigrate their residents due to the construction of the Three Gorges dam, and at the same time which are landslide-stricken areas. Emerging local crevices and slipping body at Shangxiping in Wushan county, resulting from inducements both of projects' construction and of long-time raining, will block traffic, seriously threaten the properties and lives of its local people and negatively influence the building of house for emigrants and the dock for shipment in Wushan county as well as the progress of emigration there once it loses its stability. In addition, the resultant silt from slipping bodies will undoubtedly deposit in the Three Gorges reservoir, which will, as a result, shorten its service time in normal use. So to speed up the progress of dealing with geological disasters in Chongqing reservoir area and guarantee smooth emigration there, comprehensively tackling landslides at Shangxiping in Wushan county can't be delayed any more.This article has systematically analyzed geologically disastrous body's current situation and its contributing factors based on in-depth understanding its special surrounding engineering geology and related materials. According to the features of slipping body at Shangxiping, research of dealing with the slipping body in a comprehensive way has been performed through applying surveying on site, experiments in-door and out-of -door, numerical computation and theoretical analysis etc. The main results attained are as follows:(1)The minimum stability coefficient of slipping body at Shangxiping could be expressed by Fs=1.65, the maximum Fs=14.8, under the natural condition. Under the condition of saturation, section 4~4(Fs=1.11;section 5~5(Fs=1.15;section6~6( Fs=12.26.(2)Section1~1(,3~3(of the slipping body at Erpingzi have the expression of Fs=1.02~1.14,and section2~2(Fs=1.16 under the natural condition; Fs=0.95~1.05, Fs=1.05 respectively under the condition of saturation.(3)Number Ⅲ has the expression of Fs=1.14, Fs=0.95~1.05 under the condition of nature and saturation respectively.(4)Under the same condition of number Ⅳ Fs=1.22 and 1.05.Some conclusions can also be achieved through analysis mentioned above.(1)Situation about the slipping body at Erpingzi: It need monitoring and tacklingin time no matter the back plateau of it is keeping in stability.(2)Situation about the slipping body at Shangxiping: Under the general condition, it keeps stable; it also has the potential of landslide because of the effect of surface water and underground water.(3)Number Ⅲ slipping body: It usually stays stable under the natural condition and is liable to landslide in the condition of saturation.(4)NumberⅣ slipping body: It generally has the same behavior as number Ⅲ, only it has the potential of landslide under the condition of saturation.
