The paper has made a comprehensive study to marine carbonate oolitic reservoir in Triassic of Feixianguan group of intra-platform taphrogenic trough basin in North-east past of Sichuan basin. According to the principle of High resolution stratigraphic sequence, combined with original results gained form the area, the author have built up the base level cycles and fades model of different stages based on the surface identification mark of base level cycle using the information of geology, seismic, logging ,core and outcrops.The control of stratigraphic sequence to reservoir distribution and properties have been discussed, and the favorable plays for natural gas exploration have been predicted. The new results of which are as follows:l.Paricular seven identification mark from up-shallowing to exposed surface in taphrogenic trough have been built, the first modelling of the identification mark of carbonate sequence boundary is very important in theory.2.The new idea about classification of oil and gas accumulation unit for exploration have been put forward, which holds the sound basis for the perpendicular and plane position and prediction of carbonate reservoir in Feixianguan Guan group.3.The depositional systems of Feixianguanguan group in taphrogenic consist of carbonate platform facies(include oolitic bar, oolitic beach, lagoon, flats),margin shelf and trough. There are five development staged in taphrogenic trough.4. the accurate position where the carbonate reservoir existed in Feixianguan group in taphrogenic trough has been figured out, which usually located in the half cycle when the base level falls.5.Stratigraphic sequence is very important in control of reservoir properties in Feixianguan group which not show base level cycle on the oolide distribution, but on dolomization, Because of the two factors, SSC2, SSC3 cycle are favorable in five sequences, especially SSC2 cycle is the best among the five sequences.6.Combined with structure, generation, sealing and other factors for pooling, three favorable plays for exploration have been selected based on the prediction of prospect reservoir.7.High resolution stratigraphic sequence analysis and study is also an efficient means for the research and prediction of plays of marine carbonate reservoir.
