At present, our country is enlarging the input on many fundamental constru ctions, such as energy, transportation, water conservancy. All over the country, i mportant fundamental Projects spread out in succession.Among them, the freeways, which are being built in Hubei province, are Ji ngzhu freeway, the outer ring freeway of Wuhan, Xiangjing Freeway, Hanshi fre eway, XiaoXiang freeway. Moreover. Enshi section of Hurong Freeway will go i nto operation next year. And the national highway 318 is the main artery of traff ic operation between the west and the east of our country, the vital communicati on line of the largely developing west. In pace with the high development of our transportation, the problem of environment project geology stands out which oc curs during the highway construction of mountain areas. Enshi city lies in the w estern mountain areas of Hubei province, which is a region of the developing w est, so the backward transportation seriously hinders the development of the loc al economy. Therefore, accelerating the highway construction is a trend in need, and it gains more and more attention and notice of people.This thesis is based on the specific project geology environment of Enshi, s tudying the Nanlidu landslide of the national highway 318. The method of finite unit analysis is used in it. And, it gives the comprehensive analysis and evaluati on to the stability of mountain landslide.The methods of analysis and evaluation to the stability of slope, now mainl y are qualitative analysis, half quantitative analysis, physics model test and qua ntitative analysis. They all are extensively synthetically use of project geology, soil mechanics and classical mathematics physics, with the help of computers. E ach method has its own emphasis and superiority.The content of this thesis,through the deformation destruction process of th e typical Nanlidu landslide along the national highway 318,uses the finite unit a nalysis of computation ,revealing the elastic ,plastic stress and displacement of each joint inside the slide area pointing out the distribution range of the tensionstress and the plastic deformation range, computering the stability safety factor of the slide area ,gaining the fixed quantity ,quota that evaluates the stability of the slide area ,revealing the position of the slide area which is most likely to los e its stability ,thus ,it can provide theoretic proof for the programs which renova te landslides.The study of this problem, will has widely exploitative value and important practical significance, to the construction of the Enshi section of Hurong freew ay which will be built during the large development of the western part, and the railway and airport construction in Enshi.
