Objective To research whether IL-6. SOD, immunoglobulin and albumin have the adaptive response and stimulation effect to low dose radiation or not.Method ICR mouse is choiced as experimental animal and each group has 12 mice.8 groups of mouse was given different dose 60Co Y radiation to survey the hormesis and the radiation dose is 7.5, 10, 12.5, 20 , 30, 100, 200, 300 cGy respectively; the ninth group of mouse was given 7.5cGy beforehand radiation before 6 hours of 300 cGy radiation to survey the adaptive response. One control group was established. Blood samples were collected after 24 hours of radiation.IL-6 and SOD was measured by radioimmunoassay, immunoglobulin and albumin was test by spectrophotometer. Results In the situation of the experiment, stimulation effect haven't been found in immunoglobulin and albumin; stimulation effect of low dose radiation to SOD was survey in the dose of 12.5 cGy; we also found that there is several dose point from 7.5 to 30 cGy have stimulation effect to IL-6,meantime and radiation of 7.5 cGy have adaptive response to IL-6; IL-6 increased drastically in the group of 300 cGy of radiation .Conclusion Low dose radiation have stimulation effect to IL-6 and SOD and radiation of 7.5 cGy can result in the adaptive response of IL-6,whereas this phenomenon has not been survey in immunoglobulin and albumin. The fact that different dose have stimulation effect to IL-6indicated that the range of stimulation dose to IL-6 is wide. Increase of IL-6 after high dose radiation maybe is result of excessive synthesis and the reason is worthy of more research.
