The bremsstrahlung in the Beijing Electron Positron Collider (BEPC) is one of the most important projects for the defense of beams in the synchrotron radiation facilities. In electron storage rings, the interactions by beams with residual gas produce the bremsstrahlung which has not been sufficiently understood and is the main course of the loss of the beam. In the paper, We analyze the reason and effect of the bremsstrahlung, calculate the dose in the linear section of the storage rings, and propose the defense project to shield it. The Ferrari and the Frank experiential formula are used to calculate the dose of the bremsstrahlung, so is the FLUKA programmer. With comparing the three results, it indicates that the result of the experiential formula is adequate and little conservative. So the calculation by the experiential formula could be adopted in practice. These results can be directly used to design the defense project for the beam and the collide area in the BEPCII.In the paper, the electromagnetic shower and the theory of the high energy electron interacting with the material are introduced. Based on the describing the work mode of the BEPCII, we analyze the reason of the beam lost and discuss the shield project , which support the proofs for the reconstructive radiation defense of the BEPCII...
