Although high load of sea ice is a great threat to ocean structure, the more seriousthreat lies in its notable motive effect. The ice-induced vibration has already causedseveral disasters to ocean structure. In terms of the conditions of sea ice and ocean structure in Bohai Sea, the textpresents a simple measure to reduce the vibration .The measure is establishing layersof flexibility rubber on the stakes of some platform, which is used to change themotive characteristic of ice load. During calculation, the flexibility rubber is supposedas a kind of subsystem which affix to the main structure. The property of thesubsystem is a "spring-damper" system whose rigidity is gained from the procedureusing the ANSYS to analyze the entity model. An appropriate ice force function isimportant to this text. With the ice force function, motive analysis to JZ20-2 platformby the ANSYS procedure is processing and gets different characters. These charactersare separated to two groups corresponding to whether has rubber or not. Through thecomparison, an advantageous result of mitigating ice-induced vibration can be seenwhen rubber is affixed. So, the method is a simple, viable, economical measure.
