Geologic structure modeling is one of the main aim of seismic forward modeling and inversion method, while most of the current modeling systems could not meet the needs of the scientific research and product practices. The geological model input is very complex and very clumsy, so it is high time we solved it by new model description methods and new model input techniques. Geologic structure modeling and input system are studied in this paper, we mainly aim at the efficiency and accuracy of model input. The major achievements obtained is listed as follows:1 .An independent system for geologic structure modeling is built. It can be used to create the model data file for the seismic forward modeling semi-automatically. Thus, the two primary difficult problems of low efficiency and accuracy have been solved very well.2.Graphic and digital image processing technique are introduced into geological modeling, and some kinds of arithmetic are presented, based on which fast model input for ray tracing and wave equation forward modeling have been both achieved.3.We apply edge detection to geological modeling for the first time, and achieve both high efficiency and high precision. As far as geological modeling is concerned, many classical edge detection methods can not do well in precision that is the most important. A novel edge detection operator is presented, which is the simplest operator based on regular convolution kernel. Moreover, its error is no more than one pixel in the noise-free case. Experimental results prove that the presented method not only guarantees the high accuracy but also improves the efficiency greatly, especially to the piecewise uniform image.4. By using a new interpolation method based on Discrete Fourier Transform (DFT), we get the goal of high fidelity interpolation for seismic track, and the matching result of seismic and logging data is improved. During interpolation, the original frequency of seismic signal is kept very well without negative effect to the subsequent processing.5.Cubic curves are used to geologic structure model input, and the formation boundary becomes smooth, which is good to the forward modeling. This method could hold true to various background.
