As a result of the sea-level drop at the Last Glacial Maximum in the late Quaternary, the distribution of the land and sea in the eastern China continent changed a lot. The studies to exhibit the sedimentary source in the East China Sea during the last glacial age are of great significance to reveal paleo-ocean, paleo-climate change and environmental evolution. Chemical components of minerals in Huanghe delta, Changjiang delta and the outer shelf of the Southern East China Sea cores, studies show that the typochemical characteristic of ilmenite, hornblende, garnet and biotite are effective tracer index of sedimentary provenance in late Pleistocene-Holocene sediments of the southern outer shelf, East China Sea.Contrast of chemical components of minerals in Huanghe and Changjiang delta sediments, show that the provenace of Huanghe delta is relatively simple, the provenance of Changjiang delta is very sophisticated from late Pleistocene. Mg and Cr of ilmenite, Ti, Fe/Ca and Fe/Mg of hornblende, Fe, Mg, Ca, Ti, Mn, Fe/Ca, Fe/Mn of garnet, Mg of biotite in the late Pleistocene sediment; Mg and Ti/Fe of ilmenite, Fe, Fe/Ca, Fe/Mg of hornblende, Fe, Mg, Ca, Ti, Mn, Fe/Mn of garnet, Fe, Mg, Ti of biotite in the Holocene sediment, these characteristics are to identify Huanghe and Changjiang provenance.Based on ilmenite (Mg, Ti/Fe), hornblende (Fe, Ti, Fe/Ca, Fe/Mg), garnet (Fe, Ca, Mg, Ti, Mn, Fe/Ca, Fe/Mn), biotite (Mg) in the southern outer shelf, the East China Sea, the typochemical characteristics of minerals reveal that late Pleistocene sediments contain Huanghe and Changjiang mixed sediments in the southern outer shelf, East China Sea, but proportion of contribution of Changjiang provenace is greater than Huanghe delta, andother unkowned foreign provenance. Inputs of Huanghe sediments have been increased in Holocene sediments, but Changjiang provenance is still major, and exist foreign provenance with the exception of the two end member.
