This paper summarizes the basic theory, significance and available methods, and chiefly studies the methods of computing wave force using Morison equation. Some central effect factors on some gropingly questions about Morison equation are more studied, for example, how to corroborate the haul force coefficient and the inertia force coefficient, how to select the wave theory, etc. For these effect factors, the author not only do the theoretical computation, but also have the model experiment to make the result more reliable. Some theoretical result can be obtained when we use different coefficients and wave theories. Then the most suitable result can be gained by comparing experiment data with theoretical computation. The author gives the mathematical model and graphic user interface suitable different circumstances ultimately. The system for computing wave force using Morison equation is made by GUI of MATLAB. The system based on the upper theory and experiment. It is very available, stable and flexible. The users can conveniently and rapidly accomplish the computation of the wave force on the small-diameter cylinders only by inputting the required parameters, or selecting the theory and the showing way of the result. It is make the solution of this kind of problem in the process of the engineering design and study become simply, convenient and immediate. It is well utilitarian in the design and study of marine engineering.
