Research On The Technology Of Realizing 3DGIS Using By Java3D

As the Geographic Information System (GIS) increasingly universal applied, it has permeated into the each field now, and people's demands with the technique have increased continuously. The conventional 2DGIS which running with the single computer can no longer satisfy people's request, however 3DGIS deserving severely concern. Nowadays, the researches on domestic and international at this aspect be placed in the stage of start, the technique is still not maturity. In the environment of that, this paper puts forward the method to realizing 3D visualization in network based on Java3D with the foundation of theories developing in WebGIS and 3DGIS area, and then verifies the possibility of this method in the way of making a experiment of releasing the 3D scenes with a city region in internet.3DGIS technique in internet is the combination of network technique and 3D technique, and then the paper first analyzes the related theories, including its characteristics, construction method, structure model and development trend. Thereafter, the paper discusses 3DGIS technique, and enumerates data model, 3D visualization and concept of digital city. Then the author emphasize on 3D visualization on the internet, and compare vary methods about that, then choose the Java3D technique to realize the 3D visualization on internet. Follow of that, the paper introduce the advantage of Java3D in network and principle of it. Finally, it elaborated on the design process of the experiment system, realizing technique and result.
