By using the 2D shallow water equations and ADI method, the numerical simulation model in South China Sea is built. With this model, the 8 principle tidal components (Q1, O1, P1, K1, N2, M2, S2 and K2) are simulated. By the harmonic analysis on the results of the simulation, the harmonic constants of the 8 principle tidal components on the grids in South China Sea are achieved. The distribution of Sa in South China Sea is calculating with the observed data around the sea by using Kriging method. Using the observed data from the long term tide stations around the sea, the errors of numerical tide prediction in South China Sea are calculated, the results indicate that the precision of the prediction is around 20cm and is enough accurate. With the Matlab language, the numerical tide prediction software in South China Sea is developed. With this software, the tide predictions at any point or all points in South China Sea at any time can be obtained, and the co-tidal charts of the 8 principle tidal component can be drawn. This software is valuable in navigation, ocean sounding and sea battle.
